Sister Marie Colette Muller, O.S.F., who served at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie for 43 years, died Aug. 25 at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. She was 92.

Sister Marie Colette was a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities.

At St. Francis Hospital, she did pastoral ministry, 1979-2013, and served as a staff nurse, 1970-1979. She was elected to the hospital’s board of directors in 1998.

She served at St. Agnes Hospital, White Plains, as a staff nurse, 1968-1970 and baby nurse, 1950-1959, and was a nurse in the infirmary at Immaculate Conception motherhouse, Hastings-on-Hudson, 1959-1968.

Born in Atlantic City, N.J., she entered the Sisters of St. Francis at Hastings-on-Hudson in 1948 and professed final vows in 1953. (The Sisters of St. Francis were one of three New York congregations of Franciscan Sisters that united in 2004 to form the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities.)

She earned her LPN from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Yonkers, and her associate’s degree in nursing from Bronx Community College, the Bronx. She also received certification in pastoral care.

A Funeral Mass was offered Sept. 5 at St. Catharine’s Church, Pelham. Burial was in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
