Father Peter A. Wu, M.M., who served in Taiwan for 50 years, died May 3 in the assisted living unit at Maryknoll in Ossining. He was 87.
From 1962 to 2012, Father Wu was in Taiwan, serving as a pastor, teacher and regional assistant superior.
Born in Shanghai, China, he entered Maryknoll in 1955 and was ordained in 1961.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J., and later completed his master’s in linguistics.
His brothers, Vincent, Stephen, Dr. Edward, Francis and John; and his sisters, Agnes Wu Sun, Margaret Ho, Theresa Kang Liu and Lucy Gilbart, survive him.
A Funeral Mass was offered May 5 in Queen of Apostles Chapel at Maryknoll. Burial was in Maryknoll Society Cemetery.
