Sister Mary Celine D'Anthony, C.S.JB., who was a teacher and parish worker, died Nov. 10 at Mount St. John Convent in Purchase. She was 93. In the archdiocese, she taught at Our Lady of Loreto, Manhattan, 1934-1938, and St. James, 1945-1948, and at St. John Villa Academy, Staten Island, 1944-1945. She did parish work at St. Dominic's, the Bronx, 1948-1952. She served in New Jersey and Connecticut until 1962, when she was assigned to Canada. She retired to Mount St. John in 1999. Born in Jersey City, she entered the Sisters of St. John the Baptist in 1933 and professed final vows in 1939. She held a bachelor's degree from Fordham University. A Funeral Mass was offered Nov. 13 at Mount St. John Convent, with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
