Sister Mary Charles Scholl, P.B.V.M.

Sister Mary Charles Scholl, P.B.V.M., who taught at schools in Westchester, Manhattan and the Bronx, died July 23 in Goshen. She was 94.

She was a teacher at St. Paul’s School, Yonkers, 1970-1976; St. Jude’s, Manhattan, 1952-1961; and Our Lady of Solace, 1945-1952, and Holy Rosary, 1942-1945, both in the Bronx.

She was principal at St. Bartholomew’s, Yonkers, 1964-1970.

She also taught in Clifton, N.J.

Born in the Bronx, she entered the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1940 and professed final vows in 1945. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College in 1948.

Her brother, Robert Scholl, survives her. A Funeral Mass was offered July 25 at Mount St. Joseph’s Convent, New Windsor, with burial at Mount St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
