Sister Mary Clement Gilroy, S.A., who served in various ministries of the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement, died Sept. 29. She was 97. In the archdiocese, she served a summer assignment in 1950 conducting a parish census at St. Cecilia's, East Harlem. Most of her other service was in upstate New York and New England. Born in County Leitrim, Ireland, she entered the Atonement Sisters in 1939 and professed final vows in 1949. A Funeral Mass was offered Oct. 3 in the motherhouse chapel at Graymoor in Garrison, with burial in the sisters' cemetery there.
