Sister Mary Eucharia Iannucci, C.S.JB., a librarian at St. Lucy’s School in Newark, N.J., for 10 years, died Feb. 17 at Providence Rest Nursing Home in the Bronx. She was 88.
Sister Mary Eucharia was at St. Lucy’s, 1996-2006. She previously served as a teacher and chaplain at high schools in Toronto.
Born in Frasso Telesino, Benevento, Italy, she entered the Sisters of St. John the Baptist in 1954 and professed final vows in 1962.
She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Fordham University, the Bronx, and later earned a master’s in theology while serving in Canada.
Her brother, Vincent, survives her.
A Funeral Mass was offered Feb. 20 at Providence Rest Chapel. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
