Sister Mary Gertrude Naab, M.M., who served in Hawaii for 27 years, died May 17 at Marknoll Sisters Center, Ossining. She was 97.
Sister Mary served in Hawaii, 1971-1988 and 1944-1954. She was at Maryknoll as co-personnel director, 1988-1993, and superior, 1969-1970. She also served in California and Samoa.
Born in Passaic, N.J., she entered the Maryknoll Sisters Novitiate in 1940 and professed final vows in 1946.
Her sister, Patricia, survives her.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated May 23 in the Main Chapel of the Maryknoll Sisters Center. Burial was in Maryknoll Sisters Cemetery.
