Sister Mary Rosaria McDonough, O.P.

Sister Mary Rosaria McDonough, O.P., who was the administrator of homes run by the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne for patients with advanced cancer, died Jan. 6 at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne. She was 96. She served in the archdiocese as administrator of St. Rose's Home in lower Manhattan, 1963-1970 and 1976-1990. She also served as administrator of homes in St. Paul, Minn., and Fall River, Mass., before retiring in 1997. Born in County Longford, Ireland, she entered religious life in 1948 and professed final vows in 1952. She is survived by a sister, Kitty Scanlan. A Funeral Mass was offered Jan. 12 in Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at the Hawthorne home, with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
