Sister Maureen McAnany, S.A., who served in Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement missions, died Jan. 13 at Graymoor, Garrison. She was 95.

She served in catechetical and pastoral ministries in New York state, New Jersey and New Hampshire, including an assignment at St. Cecilia’s parish in East Harlem, during her years as an Atonement missionary from the late 1940s until 1984, when she retired to the motherhouse.

Born in Mount Vernon, she entered the congregation in 1943 and professed final vows in 1950. A Funeral Mass was offered Jan. 18 in the motherhouse chapel, with burial in the sisters’ cemetery at Graymoor.
