Sister Rose Chin, M.M., who served for 25 years in Hong Kong, died July 26 in the Residential Care Unit of the Maryknoll Sisters Center. She was 83. She was a teacher and administrator of a school in Kwun Tong, an industrial area of Hong Kong, from 1964 to 1989. She came to the United States in 1990 and served for five years at Maryknoll Sisters Center in Ossining. Born in Kweilin, Guangxi Province, China, she became a Catholic as a young girl and joined the Sister Catechists of Our Lady, a community being trained for the Church in Kweilin by Maryknoll Sisters. However, that community was disbanded by the Chinese government, so in 1962 she entered Maryknoll. She professed final vows in 1969. A Funeral Mass was offered July 31 at the Maryknoll Sisters Center, with burial in the Maryknoll Sisters Cemetery.
