Sister Theresa Mangieri, M.M., who was a missioner to the Philippines and Zimbabwe for 34 years, died April 5 at Maryknoll Sisters Center in Ossining. She was 90.

Sister Theresa taught at St. Anthony of Padua School, the Bronx, 1957-1958, before serving in the Philippines, 1958-1977, and Zimbabwe, 1982-1997. She also served in North Carolina.

She also worked in Maryknoll’s development department, 2009-2014, and as coordinator of the Sisters Renewal Program, 1978-1981.

Born in the Bronx, she entered the Maryknoll Sisters novitiate in 1947 and professed final vows in 1953.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Maryknoll Teachers College and a master’s in educational psychology from St. Louis University.

A Funeral Mass was offered April 11 in Annunciation Chapel at Maryknoll. Burial followed in Maryknoll Sisters Cemetery.
