Sister Xavier Miriam Folser, S.C., who was a teacher in the archdiocese, died July 30 at Mary the Queen Convent in Yonkers. She was 96. She taught at Resurrection School in Rye, 1978-1981; St. Patrick's in Bedford Village, 1970-1978; St. Barnabas, the Bronx, 1937-1942; St. John the Evangelist, Manhattan, 1932-1937; and Seton Academy, Yonkers, 1930-1932. She also served at St. Vincent's Hospital, Manhattan, as assistant administrator, 1963-1967, director of nutrition, 1948-1963, and dietitian, 1945-1948. She was an assistant administrator at St. Vincent's Hospital, Staten Island, 1967-1970. Born in Manhattan, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1929 and professed final vows in 1934. She held bachelor's degrees from the College of Mount St. Vincent and Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa., and a master's from Columbia University. She was predeceased by her brother, Father Harold Folser, S.J. A Funeral Mass was offered Aug. 7 at Mary the Queen Convent, with burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
