Temporary Administrator, Parochial Vicar Appointed

Father Subroto Lawrence Naskar has been appointed temporary administrator of Our Lady of Mercy-Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Port Chester, and Father George LaGrutta has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Benedict’s parish, the Bronx.

Father Naskar’s appointment was effective April 4, and Father LaGrutta’s became effective April 1.

Father Subroto Lawrence Naskar formerly served as parochial vicar of Our Lady of Mercy, 2004-2015. He continued as parochial vicar when Our Lady of Mercy merged with Sacred Heart of Jesus in 2015. He was ordained in 1998 in his native India, and he was incardinated into the archdiocese in 2010.

Father George LaGrutta formerly served as pastor of St. Anthony of Padua, Yulan-St. Thomas Aquinas, Forestburgh, since the parish’s merger in 2015. He was administrator of St. Anthony of Padua, Yulan, 2014-2015. He was parochial vicar at St. James the Apostle, Carmel, 2013-2014, and Immaculate Conception, Port Jervis, 2010-2013. He was ordained in 2010.
