Tend Your Faith

Posted

I urge all Catholics not to confuse the trauma of clergy sexual abuse with your devotion to your Catholic faith. Regardless of what is happening in the Church, each of us must travel separately in our journey to the kingdom of heaven. No actions of priests, bishops, cardinals or even the pope can be a distraction that would cause us in any way to separate ourselves from our love and devotion to Our Father who art in heaven.

Clergy sexual abuse can never define the holiness of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is more than a physical entity; it has an immortal soul given to it thousands of years ago by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. So, my Christian brothers, do not despair. Rather, as the Church suffers, our faith must become stronger.
