Two Priests Ordained for Maryknoll

Father Daniel Siwoo Kim, M.M., and Father Peter Latouf, M.M., were ordained as Maryknoll Fathers at a Mass of Ordination offered by Bishop Frank Caggiano of Bridgeport, Conn., at Maryknoll Society Center in Ossining May 20.

Father Raymond J. Finch, M.M., superior general of Maryknoll, was a concelebrant of the Mass.

Father Kim, 34, is from the Diocese of Orange, Calif., and has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from California State University at Long Beach. He entered Maryknoll in 2009, professed his final vows in 2015 and was ordained a deacon at his home parish of St. Thomas Korean Catholic Center in Anaheim, Calif., in 2015.

Father Latouf, 32, who hails from the Archdiocese of Detroit, entered Maryknoll in 2010, professed his final vows in 2016 and was ordained a deacon at his home parish of St. Sharbel in Warren, Mich. He earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and Asian studies, and a master’s degree in educational psychology, all from Wayne State University.

Father Kim and Father Latouf, who each received Master’s of Divinity degrees from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and celebrated their first Mass on May 21, will serve their first mission following ordination in Hong Kong.
