St. Catharine’s Early Childhood Center in Blauvelt had a reunion Oct. 19 to mark its 20th anniversary.

A highlight was the presence of Msgr. Francis J. McAree, the pastor of St. Catharine’s parish, and past pastors of St. Catherine, Msgr. William Belford, the pastor of St. Teresa’s parish on Staten Island and regional dean of the Staten Island Deanery, and Msgr. Emmet Nevin, the pastor of St. Aedan parish in Pearl River and regional dean of the Rockland County Deanery, who offered a joint blessing.

Msgr. Belford also delivered remarks about the history of the early childhood center for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Many families and alumni came back to visit and share their memories.

Founded in 1999, St. Catharine’s Early Childhood Center provides a nurturing, educational and fun environment for young children. Barbara Feeney is the center’s director.

Each child at the center is recognized as a unique individual with special talents and abilities. Children are introduced to a full curriculum of early learning in a center-based setting. Hands-on activities and participation in all areas of learning provide an ideal setting for young children to develop and grow. Large open spaces and varied centers encourage exploration and discovery.

The center, located at 517 Western Parkway, is licensed by New York state and housed in a facility designed for the developmental growth of preschool children. Information: (845) 359-4330.
