Archbishop Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States, will celebrate Mass during the three-day New York Encounter at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan. The Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20.
The New York Encounter, Friday to Sunday, Feb. 18-20, is a public cultural event featuring panel discussions, artistic performances and special exhibits. The theme for 2022 is “This Urge for the Truth.”
“In a world turned upside down by the pandemic, polarization, online media and more, the 2022 theme invites us to cultivate whatever vestige is left of our seeker’s soul, which is that which makes us human,” organizers said.
A presentation called "Haiti’s Open Wounds," featuring eyewitness accounts on the humanitarian crisis in Haiti, will take place Saturday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Information: www.newyorkencounter.org
