Bernard J. Noonan, manager of telecommunications at the New York Catholic Center in Manhattan and at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie, died Feb. 9. He was 65.

He had served as an archdiocesan employee since 2000, when he retired after a long career with the New York Telephone Company. In the 1970s, he served as a troubleshooter for telecommunications work during the building of the New York Catholic Center and also provided his expertise at other archdiocesan facilities.

Born and reared in the Bronx, he was decorated for his service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He lived more recently in Astoria and Hampton Bays.

Mr. Noonan was predeceased by his wife, Maureen. He is survived by two brothers, James and John.

Auxiliary Bishop Gerald T. Walsh, rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary, offered the Funeral Mass Feb. 18 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in the Bronx. Burial was in St. Raymond’s Cemetery.
