The University of Notre Dame Club of Staten Island will begin its 28th annual Bread of Life Food Drive April 1 with an estimated 70,000 items of food collected to be sorted, packed and sent for delivery from Msgr. Farrell High School on Staten Island Saturday, April 13.
The Bread of Life Food Drive, which began in 1992, has extended beyond Staten Island into parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Since then, it has collected more than 1.3 million items of food for donation to 25 nonprofit organizations serving the hungry and families in need.
Local schools, churches, other faith-based groups and unions will be accepting donations of canned goods April 1-13.
