Brother Francis Thomas O’Malley, F.M.S., who taught at St. Helena’s High School in the Bronx, died Feb. 9 at De LaSalle Home in Lincroft, N.J. He was 86.
He taught at St. Helena’s, 1951-1960. He also taught at Archbishop Molloy High School, 1990-2006 and 1960-1963, and Christ the King High School, 1963-1970, both in Queens, and St. Mary’s, Manhasset, 1970-1990.
He also served at Camp Marist in New Hampshire.
Born in the Bronx, he entered the Marist Brothers in 1948 and professed final vows in 1956.
A Funeral Mass was offered Feb. 14 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Forest Hills, Queens. Burial followed at the Marist Brothers Cemetery, Esopus.
