Brother Gregory Dela Noy, F.M.S.

Brother Gregory Dela Noy, F.M.S., who served for 17 years at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, died April 6 at Champagnat Hall in the Bronx. He was 83.

At Our Lady of Lourdes, he was principal, 1970-1972, assistant principal, 2005-2011, and guidance counselor, 1996-2005.

He was a professor at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, 1990-1996, and a guidance counselor at John A. Coleman High School, Kingston, 1977-1990. He was a teacher at Mount St. Michael Academy, the Bronx, 1959-1965, and deputy principal at Marist High School in Chicago, 1965-1970.

Born in New York City, he entered the Marist Brothers Novitiate in Tyngsboro, Mass., in 1951 and professed final vows in 1957.

He earned master’s degrees in speech from Marquette University and school administration from Fordham University.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on April 6 at the Marist Brothers Chapel in Esopus.

Burial followed at Marist Brothers Cemetery in Esopus.
