Brother Kevin John Cahill, S.S.P.

Brother Kevin John Cahill, S.S.P., who served as provincial vocation director for the Society of St. Paul for eight years, died April 6 of the coronavirus at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home on Staten Island. He was 83.

Brother Cahill was provincial vocations director, 1980-1988, before he was assigned to the marketing department at St. Pauls/Alba House Publishing on Staten Island. He also was director for Alba House Cornerstone Bookstore in lower Manhattan and Alba House/St. Paul Book Center in the Bronx for 18 years.

Raised on Staten Island, he was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School. He entered the Society of St. Paul in 1955 and professed final vows in 1963.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio, and a master’s from New York University.

His brother, Philip, and sister, Ruthann Gilesbrecht, survive him.
Burial and a Memorial Mass will take place at a later date.
