Brother Thomas Feerick, C.F.C., the financial director of St. Joseph’s Residence in New Rochelle, died June 6. He was 78.

He had held the position at St. Joseph’s, a health care facility for Christian Brothers, since 1990. He also served as treasurer of the Christian Brothers’ Eastern American Province and St. Patrick’s Provincialate Community in New Rochelle.

Brother Feerick earlier taught in Manhattan at Sacred Heart Grammar School and Power Memorial Academy, and in New Rochelle at Blessed Sacrament High School. He was a teacher and principal in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Hawaii.

Born in New York City, he entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1946 and professed final vows in 1957. He held a bachelor’s degree in history from Iona College, a master’s in sociology from St. John’s University and a master’s in management from the University of Notre Dame.

He is survived by a sister, Maureen Shannon.

A Funeral Mass was offered June 10 at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle. Burial was in Christian Brothers Cemetery in West Park.
