Catechist Communion Breakfast, Day on Reaching ‘Nones’ Set

The annual Catechist Communion breakfast will take place Saturday, Feb. 22, and a professional day, “Start With Jesus,” geared to reaching the “Nones,” will be offered Friday, March 6.

The Catechist Communion breakfast will be held at the Riverview in Hastings-on-Hudson. The morning begins with 10 a.m. Mass offered by Auxiliary Bishop Gerald Walsh, vicar emeritus for clergy. The breakfast, featuring a reflection, “Deepen Your Faith,” by Father Francis Amodio, O. Carm., director of vocations for the Carmelites’ Province of St. Elias, follows at 11 a.m.

The archdiocesan Catechetical Office is sponsoring the breakfast. Cost: $20. RSVP (limited seating): bit.ly/communion-breakfast

The professional day, “How to Reach the ‘Nones’: Start With Jesus,” features a presentation and discussion led by Julianne Stanz, director of discipleship and leadership development for the Diocese of Green Bay, Wis.

The day, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., will be held at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie. It is designed for pastors and other priests, deacons, seminarians and directors and coordinators of religious education.

The Catechetical Office, and the Offices of Priest Personnel, the Catechumenate and Youth Ministry are the sponsors. Cost: $25, includes morning hospitality and lunch. To register, by March 2: bit.ly/reachingnones.
