Citizenship Question

Posted

An article on page 29 of Catholic New York’s April 11 issue is titled “Catholic Conference, Catholic Charities Urge Court to Reject Census Citizenship Question.”

The Catholic Church and its organizations are worried about a “severe undercount of non-citizens” in the upcoming 2020 Census due to a question about citizenship. There are many “non-citizens” that are legally in this country and they will have no problem answering the “citizenship” question. Am I missing something, or is there some other reason for the amicus curiae brief supporting a lawsuit?
