Dominican Sisters of Sparkill Elect Leadership Team

The Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, at their General Chapter April 19-21, elected their next leadership team: Sister Irene Ellis, O.P., prioress; Sister Marie Peter Buckley, O.P., councilor; Sister Aileen Donovan, O.P., councilor; Sister Grace Anne Hogan, O.P., councilor; and Sister Nancy Richter, O.P., councilor. They will begin their four-year term in July.

Sister Irene Ellis and Sister Grace Hogan are members of the Dominican Sisters’ current leadership team, serving as congregational treasurer and congregational secretary, respectively. 

The new members bring a variety of gifts and expertise to the leadership team. Sister Marie Peter Buckley is a family nurse practitioner, who currently serves at Dominican Convent, the motherhouse in Sparkill. Sister Aileen Donovan  is the executive director of Marian Woods, an intercongregational residence for senior members of women’s religious communities, in Hartsdale. Sister Nancy Richter is the campus minister at Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia.

Founded in 1876, the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill is an apostolic community of vowed women religious and associates who live and minister primarily in New York, Missouri and Pakistan.
