Eleven Priests Named Administrators of Parishes

Eleven priests have been named administrators of parishes in the archdiocese, the Cardinal’s Office has announced. The appointments are effective July 1.

Father Albin Roby Antony has been appointed administrator of St. Adalbert-St. Roch parish on Staten Island. He served as parochial vicar at Blessed Sacrament, 2010-2016, and St. Charles, 1998-2010, both on Staten Island. He was ordained in 1986 for the Diocese of Kottar, India.

Father Louis Anderson has been appointed administrator of St. Anthony’s parish in the Bronx. He had served as parochial vicar at St. Benedict’s, the Bronx, since last year. He was parochial vicar at St. Lucy’s, the Bronx, 2011-2015, and Assumption, Peekskill, 2007-2011. He was ordained in 2007. 

Msgr. Thomas Bergin has been appointed administrator of Our Lady of Mercy parish in Port Chester. He formerly served as temporary administrator at St. Peter’s in lower Manhattan for several months. He had served at St. Charles on Staten Island as administrator and pastor, 2004-2015, and was parochial vicar there, 1961-1965. He was administrator of St. Raymond’s, the Bronx, 2002-2004, and pastor of St. Mary’s, Poughkeepsie, 1982-1983. In 1992 he was appointed archdiocesan vicar for education. In 1993 he was named chancellor of the archdiocese, a position he held with vicar for education for a year before returning full time to the education post. In 1995, he was named president of Cathedral High School in Manhattan. He held that position while continuing as vicar for education until 2002. He served as principal of Msgr. Farrell High School, Staten Island, 1983-1992, and also served on the faculty, 1965-1973. From 1973 to 1982, he was principal at Moore Catholic High School, also on Staten Island. He was ordained in 1961 and named a monsignor in 1990.

Father Philip Caruso has been appointed administrator of St. John the Evangelist parish in Mahopac. He served as parochial vicar of St. Joseph’s, Croton Falls, since 2012. He had served as pastor and before that as administrator of St. Joseph’s parish, New Rochelle, 1999-2012. He was parochial vicar at Our Lady of Grace, the Bronx, 1988-1999; St. Anthony’s, Nanuet, 1984-1988; and SS. Peter and Paul, Mount Vernon, 1983-1984. He also served on the faculty of Msgr. Farrell High School, Staten Island, 1982-1983; and earlier as parochial vicar of St. John and St. Mary, Chappaqua, and Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart, both in the Bronx. He was ordained in 1978.

Msgr. John Graham has been appointed administrator of St. Raymond’s parish in the Bronx, where he has served as pastor since 2004. He was named vicar of the East Bronx in 2012. From 1989 to 2004, he was principal of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, where he also served on the faculty, 1980-1989. He served as parochial vicar at St. Martin of Tours parish, the Bronx, 1974-1980. He was ordained in 1974 and named a monsignor in 1995. 

Msgr. Thomas Gilleece was appointed administrator of St. John and St. Mary parish in Chappaqua, where he has served as pastor since 2007. He had served as chancellor of the archdiocese, 2001-2007. In 2005, he was named to the College of Consultors for a five-year term. Before that, he was pastor of St. Paul’s, Congers, 1990-2001. He was associate secretary for education in the archdiocese, 1978-1990, and served on the faculty of Cardinal Hayes High School, the Bronx, 1970-1978. He was parochial vicar of Immaculate Conception, Manhattan. He was ordained in 1967 and named a monsignor in 1995.

Father Omumuawuike Madu has been named administrator of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish on Staten Island. He had served as parochial vicar of St. Brendan-St. Ann parish, the Bronx, 2015-2016, and at Holy Family, the Bronx, 2013-2015. He was a hospital chaplain at New York-Presbyterian, 2009-2013. He was ordained for the Claretian Missionaries in Nigeria in 1996 and was incardinated into the archdiocese last year.

Father Miroslaw Pawlaczyk has been appointed administrator of Immaculate Conception parish in Kingston. He was parochial vicar of Our Lady of Mercy, Port Chester, since last year. He was administrator of Sacred Heart, Port Chester, 2014-2015. He was parochial vicar at St. John the Evangelist, Mahopac, 2004-2014. He was ordained in 1992 in his native Poland and incardinated into the archdiocese in 2011.

Father Ronald Perez has been named administrator of St. Mary-St. Joseph parish in Poughkeepsie. He served as parochial vicar at St. Charles, Staten Island, 2011-2016. He served as parochial vicar of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, LaGrangeville, 2008-2011. He was ordained in 2008.

Father Enrique Salvo has been appointed administrator of St. Anselm-St. Roch parish in the Bronx. He previously served as vocations director of the archdiocese, 2012-2016. He served as parochial vicar at St. Elizabeth’s in Manhattan, 2010-2012. He was ordained in 2010. 

Father John Vigilanti has been appointed administrator of Church of the Magdalene in Pocantico Hills. He served as president of the Academy of Mount St. Ursula in the Bronx, 2009-2016. He served on the Metropolitan Tribunal beginning in 1984, as defender of the bond, 1986-1987, and as judge of the metropolitan tribunal, 1987-1995. He served as vice judicial vicar of the tribunal since 1995. He was pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Bronx, 1994-1995. He also served in the U.S. Army reserves with the rank of colonel. He was parochial vicar at St. Bartholomew’s, Yonkers; St. Thomas of Canterbury, Cornwall on Hudson; and St. James the Apostle, Carmel.  He was ordained in 1972.
