Father Albert Michael Pavlik, O. Carm

Father Albert Michael Pavlik, O. Carm, who taught at St. Albert's Seminary in Middletown, died Aug. 17. He was 81.

Father Albert taught Latin, reading and religion at St. Albert's from 1962 to 1973.

He also served at parishes in Bloomingburg and Troy.

Born in Johnstown, Pa., he entered the Order of Carmelites of the North American Province in 1954 and professed final vows in 1958. He was ordained in 1961.

He held a bachelor's in philosophy from Whitefriars Priory and a bachelor's in theology from Whitefriars Hall. He held a master's in classical languages from St. Bonaventure University.

A Funeral Mass was offered Aug. 24 at St. Joseph's Church in Troy, with burial in the Carmelite Cemetery at St. Albert's in Middletown.
