Father Daniel A. Lanza, M.M., who served in Guatemala for 26 years, died Feb. 4 in Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Little Falls. He was 90.
Father Lanza was in Guatemala, 1982-1987 and 1959-1980. He also served in Little Falls.
Born in Little Falls, he entered the Maryknoll Fathers in 1949 and made his final vows in 1958. He was ordained to the priesthod in 1959.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated Feb. 11 at Queen of Apostles Chapel at Maryknoll Society Center, Ossining. A private Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in East Herkimer. His remains will be interred in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Herkimer.
