Father Philip Francis Bohan, O.F.M., Cap., who served in archdiocesan Family Consultation Services for 16 years and also was a pastor in Manhattan, died April 10 at St. Clare’s Friary in Yonkers. He was 78.

Father Bohan was in Family Consultation Services, 1980-1996. He served at Our Lady of Sorrows parish, Manhattan, as pastor, 1984-1987, and parochial vicar, 1972-1978.

Also in Manhattan, he was parochial vicar of Good Shepherd, 2008-2014, and Our Lady Queen of Angels, 1993-1997. He also served in Brooklyn, East Patchogue and Massachusetts.

Born in Manhattan, he entered the Capuchin Franciscans in 1959 and professed final vows in 1963. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1967.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Anthony College, Hudson, N.H., before completing his theological studies at the Capuchin Theological Seminary, Garrison. He received a master’s in counseling psychology from St. John’s University, Queens.

His brothers, Eugene, Michael, James, Thomas and Christopher, and sisters, Eileen and Margaret, survive him.

Burial was April 14 in the friars’ cemetery, Yonkers. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
