Fordham University hired Kyle Neptune as its men’s basketball coach, the university announced.

The Brooklyn native comes to Fordham after serving as an assistant coach at Villanova University, which averaged 29 wins per season and won five Big East tournament championships and two NCAA Division I titles in his eight seasons on the coaching staff. In 2019, Villanova became the first team to win three consecutive Big East tournament championships.

Before serving as an assistant at Villanova, Neptune was an assistant coach for Joe Mihalich at Niagara University and Hofstra University, and served as administrative intern/video coordinator at Villanova.

Neptune, who played collegiately at Lehigh University, is the all-time leading scorer with 1,650 points at Brooklyn Friends School, which he led to a state championship in 2003.
