Four Priests Named Pastors of Parishes

Four priests were appointed pastors of parishes in the archdiocese, the Cardinal’s Office announced.
Appointed pastors effective Dec. 15 were Father Alexis Bastidas, St. Teresa, Manhattan; Father Esteban Sanchez Guanga, Assumption, Peekskill; and Father Kenneth Riello, St. Mary and St. Andrew, Ellenville. Father Daniel Corrou, S.J., was named pastor of St. Francis Xavier, Manhattan, effective Nov. 13.

Father Alexis Bastidas had served as administrator of St. Teresa, Manhattan, since 2017. He was temporary administrator of St. Luke, the Bronx, 2016-2017, and parochial vicar of Blessed Sacrament, Manhattan, 2010-2016 and 1982-2010, and St. Mary’s, Poughkeepsie, 2010. He was ordained in his native Venezuela in 1982 and incardinated into the archdiocese in 2009.

Father Daniel Corrou, S.J., had served as acting pastor of St. Francis Xavier, Manhattan, since September. He served as parochial vicar of St. Francis Xavier, Manhattan, 2017-2018. He was ordained for the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) at Fordham University in 2017.

Father Esteban Sanchez Guanga had served as administrator of Assumption, Peekskill, since 2017. He was parochial vicar of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 2015-2017, and St. Peter’s, Haverstraw, 2013-2015. He was ordained in 2013.

Father Kenneth Riello was administrator of St. Mary and St. Andrew, Ellenville, since 2017. He served as parochial vicar of St. Mary’s, Wappingers Falls, 2016-2017, and St. Teresa’s, Staten Island, 2013-2016. He was ordained in 2013.
