The FDNY Holy Name Society for Manhattan, Bronx and Staten Island held its 95th annual Communion breakfast April 28. The day began with a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Dolan in St. Patrick’s Cathedral at which the cardinal offered praise and gratitude for the members’ services. The breakfast followed in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton New York on Sixth Avenue. The organization honored retired Battalion Chief Joseph R. Bryant, who was the Holy Name Society’s president, 1980-2018; Deputy Chief of Rescue Operations James P. Ginty; and FDNY nurses from the Bureau of Health Services and the World Trade Center Medical Monitoring Program, who received the Father Mychal Judge, O.F.M., Humanitarian Award.
