Kathryn A. LaMorte, mother of Father Joseph P. LaMorte, pastor of St. Gregory Barbarigo parish in Garnerville and former pastor of Holy Trinity in Poughkeepsie, died Oct. 6 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, N.J. She was 85.
Mrs. LaMorte, known as Kaye, was born in the Bronx and lived there before moving to Toms River in 1983. She was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe parish in Toms River, where she had been a Eucharistic minister.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph LaMorte, and a son, James A. LaMorte. She is also survived by a daughter, Kathryn M Lindquist, and a sister, Jeanette Fragale. Her nephew Father Richard A. LaMorte is chaplain at Marist College.
Father Joseph LaMorte offered the Funeral Mass Oct. 8 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. Father Richard LaMorte was the homilist. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
