Mabel Elizabeth Benoit, mother of Deacon William J. Castellane of St. Mary's parish in Newburgh, died March 30 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Beacon. She was 87. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's and a member of the Knights of Columbus' Columbiettes. She was predeceased by her husbands, William Castellane and Triffle Benoit. A Funeral Mass was offered April 10 at St. Mary's with burial in Pinelawn National Cemetery, Long Island.
