Pastor, Administrator, School Chaplains Appointed in Archdiocese

A pastor and temporary administrator were appointed to parishes, and seven chaplains were named at Catholic high schools and elementary schools in the archdiocese, the Cardinal’s Office announced.
Father Patrick Angelucci, S.D.B., was appointed pastor of St. John Bosco, Port Chester, effective Oct. 14. Father Ignas Dhason, M.M.I., was named temporary administrator of Immaculate Conception, Woodbourne, effective Oct. 1.
Appointed school chaplains were Father Louis Anderson, Our Lady of Grace School and St. Francis of Assisi School, both in the Bronx; Father Jose Clavero, Sch.P., Father Felix Ganuza, Sch.P., and Father Emilio Sotomayor, Sch.P., St. Ann School, Manhattan; Father Leo Fisher, C.F.R., and Father Luke Fletcher, C.F.R., Mount St. Michael Academy, the Bronx; and Father Shane Johnson, L.C., St. Luke’s School, the Bronx.
The chaplains, who will remain in their current roles with their respective parishes and religious orders, assumed their school roles Oct. 12.

PASTOR
Father Patrick Angelucci, S.D.B., has served as administrator of St. John Bosco, Port Chester, since 2017. He was pastor of Corpus Christi-Our Lady of Rosary, Port Chester, 2015-2017; director/president of Salesian High School, New Rochelle, 2005-2014; provincial of the Salesians’ Eastern U.S. Province, New Rochelle, 1991-1997; and director of Marian Shrine, Stony Point, 1988-1991. He also served in New Jersey and Louisiana. He professed final vows with the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1972 and was ordained in 1976.

TEMPORARY ADMINISTRATOR
Father Ignas Dhason, M.M.I., was parochial vicar of Holy Cross parish, Callicoon, since September. He previously served in Tanzania, South Sudan and India. The native of India was ordained for the Missionaries of Mary Immaculate in 2008.

SCHOOL CHAPLAINS
Father Louis Anderson has served as administrator of St. Anthony’s parish, the Bronx, since 2016. He was parochial vicar of St. Benedict, the Bronx, 2015-2016; St. Lucy’s, the Bronx, 2011-2015; and Assumption, Peekskill, 2007-2011. He was ordained in 2007.

Father Jose Maria Clavero, Sch.P., is parochial vicar at Annunciation, Manhattan, where he has served as parochial vicar and pastor since 1982. He was parochial vicar of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Manhattan, 1968-1971. He also served in Puerto Rico and Spain. The native of Spain was ordained for the Piarist Fathers in 1964.
Father Leo Fisher, C.F.R., serves at St. Leopold Friary, Yonkers. He was at St. Joseph’s Friary, the Bronx, 2005-2008. He also served in New Jersey, Puerto Rico and England. He was ordained in 2005.


Father Luke Fletcher, C.F.R., has served at St. Leopold Friary, Yonkers, since 2013. He was vocations director at St. Joseph’s Friary, the Bronx, 2003-2012. He was ordained in 2003.


Father Felix Ganuza, Sch.P., is a parochial vicar of Annunciation, Manhattan since 2015, where he previously served in the same role, 1995-2009. He also served in Spain and Puerto Rico. A native of Spain, he was ordained for the Piarist Fathers in 1976.


Father Shane Johnson, L.C., has served as parochial vicar of St. Anthony of Padua, the Bronx, since 2015. He was a youth minister of St. Peter’s, Yonkers, 2012-2015; faculty member of Our Lady of Thornwood formation center, Thornwood, 2009-2012; and also was on the staff of the National Catholic Register. He was ordained with the Legionaries of Christ in 2009.


Father Emilio Sotomayor, Sch.P., has been the pastor of Annunciation, Manhattan, since 2017, and previously served as parochial vicar, 2013-2014. He was pastor of St. Helena, the Bronx, 2014-2015, and also served in Miami and Puerto Rico. A native of Spain, he was ordained for the Piarist Fathers in 1985.
