When Jesus tells people in the Gospel of St. John, “The Man who comes to me, I will not turn away,” I wonder if he refers to situations like this. Donald Trump became the first President to actually attend a March for Life rally and received much criticism from secular and religious media outlets.
The President gains nothing worldly from attending such a rally. His words, heart-felt and sincere, expressed reverence for the sanctity of life and the commitment to defend all life, born and unborn, with unmitigated ferocity.
Mr. Trump could have simply sent a friendly and supportive letter as his predecessors had. His personal attendance speaks volumes.
