Priests Appointed Pastors, Administrators of Parishes

Nine priests have been named pastors and seven have been named administrators or temporary administrators of parishes in the archdiocese, the Cardinal’s Office has announced. All appointments were effective July 1.

The following priests have been appointed pastors: 

Msgr. Joseph Giandurco has been appointed pastor of St. Patrick’s, Yorktown Heights. He served as pastor of Sacred Heart, Suffern, 2006-2016, where he was administrator for two months in 2006. He served as dean of studies at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie, 2003-2006. He was on the faculty at St. Joseph’s beginning in 1994. He served at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Shrub Oak as administrator, 2002-2003, and parochial vicar, 1992-1993 and 1987-1988. He was parochial vicar at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 1990, and Notre Dame, Manhattan, 1988-1989. He studied in Rome to complete his doctorate in canon law, 1993-1994, and attended the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome 1989-1990. He was ordained in 1987 and named a monsignor in 2006. 

Father Felix Antonio Reyes Alba, C.R.L., has been appointed pastor of St. Jude’s in Manhattan. He served as parochial vicar at St. Teresa of Avila in Sleepy Hollow, 2016-2012. He was ordained in 2009 for the Canons Regular of the Lateran in the Dominican Republic. 

Father Robert Bubel has been named pastor of St. Mary-Holy Name of Jesus and St. Peter’s, Kingston, where he had served as administrator since last year. He served as parochial vicar and master of ceremonies at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 2011-2015. He served as parochial vicar of St. Stephen’s, Warwick, 2008-2011. He was ordained in 2008.

Father William Damroth has been appointed pastor of St. Francis of Assisi, Newburgh, where he had served as administrator since last year. He served as temporary administrator of St. Francis of Assisi, Mount Kisco, 2014-2015, and was parochial vicar there, 2011-2014. He was parochial vicar at Immaculate Conception, Stony Point, 2010-2011; Our Lady Queen of Peace, Staten Island, 2006, and then temporary administrator there, 2006-2010. He was administrator at Infant Saviour, Pine Bush, 2004-2006. He was parochial vicar at Annunciation in Crestwood, 1998-2004; Sacred Heart, Newburgh, 1996-1998; and Christ the King, Yonkers, 1993-1996. He was ordained in 1993. 

Father Matthew Newcomb has been assigned pastor of Immaculate Conception, Port Jervis, where he had served as administrator since last year. He was parochial vicar at St. Francis of Assisi, Newburgh, 2014-2015. He was on the faculty at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School, Somers, 2010-2014. He was parochial vicar at St. Joseph’s, Croton Falls, 2006-2010, and St. Joseph’s, Kingston, 2005-2006. He was ordained in 2005. 

Father Kevin Malick has been assigned pastor of Our Lady of Fatima, Plattekill, where he served as administrator since 2014. He served as temporary administrator at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini on Roosevelt Island, 2013-2014. He was parochial vicar at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Staten Island, 2012-2013; Immaculate Conception, Tuckahoe, 2008-2012; and St. Augustine’s, New City, 2007-2008. He was ordained in 2007.

Father Angelo Micciulla has been appointed pastor of Holy Family, Staten Island, where he had served as administrator since last year. He was parochial vicar at St. Stephen’s, Warwick, 2012-2015; Sacred Heart, Suffern, 2008-2012; and Our Lady of Sorrows, White Plains, 2005-2008. He was ordained in 2005. 

Father Fredy Patino Montoya has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph-Immaculate Conception and St. Mary on Staten Island, where had served as administrator since last year. He earlier served as parochial vicar of St. Mary’s, St. Joseph’s and Immaculate Conception parishes, 2013-2015, and St. Peter’s, Haverstraw, 2010-2013. He was ordained in 2010.   

Father Sixto Quezada has been appointed pastor of Christ the King, the Bronx, where he had served as administrator since 2011. He served as parochial vicar of Ascension parish, Manhattan, 1987-2011. He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 1983 and was incardinated into the archdiocse in 2015.

The following priests have been appointed administrators or temporary administrators: 

Father Lino Gonsalves has been appointed administrator of St. Teresa’s, Manhattan. He had served at Immaculate Conception-Assumption, Tuckahoe, since January. He served as administrator of St. Joseph and St. James, Manhattan, 2011-2016. He was parochial vicar at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Manhattan, 2009-2011; Our Lady Help of Christians, Staten Island, 2004-2009; and St. John the Baptist, Yonkers, 2001-2004. He was ordained in 1986 in his native India and incardinated into the archdiocese in 2009.

Msgr. Thomas Kelly has been appointed administrator of St. Augustine’s, Larchmont, where he had served as pastor, 2007-2016. He served as pastor of St. Gabriel’s, the Bronx, 1995-2007. He served as temporary administrator of Infant Saviour, Pine Bush, in 1995. On Staten Island, he was principal of Moore Catholic High School, 1982-1995, and was on the faculty of Msgr. Farrell High School, 1970-1982. He was regional director for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, 1969-1970. He was parochial vicar at Blessed Sacrament, 1967-1969. He was ordained in 1967 and named a monsignor in 2006. 

Father Michael Moon has been appointed administrator of Sacred Heart, Hartsdale, where he had served as parochial vicar since 2012. He served as parochial vicar at Blessed Sacrament, Staten Island, 2007-2012, and Our Lady of the Assumption, the Bronx, 2004-2007. He was ordained in 2004. 

Msgr. James Sullivan has been named administrator of St. Martin de Porres, Poughkeepsie, where he had served as pastor since 2004. He was principal of Cardinal Spellman High School, the Bronx, 1997-2004. He was administrator of St. Eugene’s, Yonkers, 1997. He was rector of St. John Neumann Residence, 1990-1996, and Catholic Preparatory Seminary, 1988-1990. He was special assistant to the archbishop for vocations, 1986-1988, and director of youth services, Catholic Charities, and director of CYO, 1983-1985. He was associate superintendent for religious education, 1981-1983. He taught at Msgr. Farrell High School, Staten Island, 1973-1981. He was parochial vicar at Annunciation, Crestwood, 1970-1973. He was ordained in 1970 and named a monsignor in 1990 and named dean of Dutchess County in 2014. 

Father Ignatius Vu has been named administrator of St. George-St. Francis, Jeffersonville, where he had served as pastor since 2004. He served as parochial vicar at St. Paul’s, Staten Island, 2001-2004, and Our Lady of Sorrows, White Plains, 1994-2004. He was ordained in 1994. 

Father Anthony Mizzi-Gili has been appointed temporary administrator of Holy Trinity, Poughkeepsie. He served as parochial vicar at St. Barnabas, the Bronx, 2015-2016. He served as administrator of St. Eugene’s, Yonkers, 2014-2015. He was parochial vicar of St. Anthony’s, Nanuet, 2012-2014, and Our Lady of the Assumption, the Bronx, 2009-2012. He was ordained in 2009. 

Father Joe Francis has been named temporary administrator of St. Joseph’s, Yonkers. He had served as parochial vicar at St. Monica’s, Manhattan, since 1997. He was ordained in his native India in 1978 and incardinated into the archdiocese in 2009.
