Blessed Sacrament School, Staten Island, Celebrates Centennial
SCHOOL SPIRIT—Blessed Sacrament School on Staten Island marked its 100th anniversary at a Mass of Thanksgiving in the parish church Sept. 16. Students Patrick Monahan and Megan Ventre present the offertory gifts to Msgr. Finn, who was the principal celebrant. Msgr. Edmund Whalen, the principal of Msgr. Farrell High School on Staten Island and an alumnus of Blessed Sacrament School, was the homilist.
Students offered tours of the school after Mass. Blessed Sacrament is a regional school with 480 students enrolled from Pre-K3 to grade 8; Joseph Cocozello is the principal. A Centennial Celebration dinner dance was held Sept. 21 at the Excelsior Grand on Staten Island.
