Selma Dotzel Palazzo, mother of Father Michael L. Palazzo, pastor of Regina Coeli parish in Hyde Park, died Nov. 28 at her home in Highland Falls. She was 80. Born in Wulfershausen, Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1954. Since 1956 she had lived in Highland Falls, where she belonged to Sacred Heart of Jesus parish and its chapter of Mothers of Priests, a group that prays for and supports priests. She worked at B. Rose Hardware there and was a bus monitor at West Point. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore. Besides Father Palazzo, she is survived by her son Kenneth and a daughter, Elizabeth Russell. Father Palazzo celebrated the Funeral Mass Dec. 2 at Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial was at Peacedale Cemetery in Highland Falls.
