Sister Agnes Kelly, O.S.U.

Sister Agnes Kelly, O.S.U., who was principal of St. Angela Merici School in the Bronx for seven years, died April 20 at her home in Kingston. She was 85.

Sister Agnes was at St. Angela Merici, 1979-1986. She was a psychotherapist at several social service programs in Ulster County and a past president of the Ulster County Historical Society. She also served in Brooklyn, and in Maryland and Delaware.

Born in Mount Vernon, she entered the Ursuline Sisters in 1958 and professed final vows in 1966. She received a bachelor’s degree from the College of New Rochelle.
Her brothers, Dan and Hugh, survive her.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated April 27 in Holy Family Church, New Rochelle. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
