Sister Alice Luby, S.C., who taught at several schools in the archdiocese, died Oct. 13 at Mary the Queen Convent in Yonkers. She was 92.

She taught at Incarnation School, Manhattan, 1941-1947; Our Lady of Mercy, Port Chester, 1962-1965; and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Shrub Oak, 1981-1982. She also taught at schools in the Diocese of Brooklyn and the Diocese of Rockville Centre.

She also served at Mount St. Vincent Convent in the Bronx and at Mary the Queen.

Born in New York City, she entered the Sisters of Charity in 1936 and professed final vows in 1942. She held a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of Mount St. Vincent and a master’s in history from St. John’s University.

A Funeral Mass was offered in the chapel at the Convent of Mary the Queen on Oct. 18. Burial followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
