Sister Alice Moran, O.S.U., who served at schools in the archdiocese for 20 years, died Oct. 23 at Andrus on Hudson in Hastings-on-Hudson. She was 90.

Sister Alice was at The Ursuline School, New Rochelle, 1999-2004; and served in the Bronx at St. Jerome’s, 1970-1976; Academy of Mount St. Ursula, 1964-1965; Our Lady of Mercy, 1961-1964 and 1957-1958; St. Angela Merici, 1956.

She was superior of the Community of St. Ursula in New Rochelle, director of novices, instructor in the inter-community novitiate program, and a member of the provincial council and board of Ursuline Associates.

She also served in Ogdensburg, Delaware and Missouri.

She retired to Andrus on Hudson in 2007.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Ursuline Sisters in 1950 and professed final vows in 1956,

She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of New Rochelle; and a master’s degree in English from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 29 at the Ursuline Province Center, New Rochelle. Burial was in St. Raymond Cemetery, the Bronx.
