Sister Angela Marie Rooney, S.C., who taught at St. Denis School in Yonkers for 18 years, died May 27 at St. Vincent de Paul Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the Bronx. She was 103. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the Sisters of Charity of New York.

Sister Angela Marie was at St. Denis, 19611979. She taught at St. Joseph, Manhattan, 1958-1961; St. Francis of Assisi, Mount Kisco, 1952-1956; St. Athanasius, the Bronx, 1949-1952; Ascension, Manhattan, 1946-1949; Visitation, the Bronx, 1941-1946; and Holy Trinity, Manhattan, 1939-1940.

She served at the Sisters of Charity Center, the Bronx, as a volunteer, 2005-2010, and staff secretary, 1979-2005. She also served in the Diocese of Brooklyn.

Born in Manhattan, she graduated from the Academy of Mount St. Ursula, the Bronx. She entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1939 and professed final vows in 1945.

She earned a bachelor's degree in business education from the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
