Sister Ann Mary McCarthy, O.P., who served as a nurse in the archdiocese, died Nov. 30 at The Wartburg in Mount Vernon. She was 90.

She worked in pastoral care with the Dominican Sisters Family Health Services in Ossining, 1986-1994. She served as supervisor of the public health nursing program with the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor in New York City, 1959-1964. She was a community health nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital Outreach Clinic in Manhattan, 1969-1971. She was unit supervisor at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, 1950-1953.

She volunteered her services in the Dominican Sisters infirmary, 1994-1996.

She also served in Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma and Puerto Rico.

Born in the Bronx, she entered the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor in 1947 and professed final vows in 1952.

She held a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. John’s University and a master’s in public health nursing from New York University.

A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 8 at the Ossining Center of Hope in Ossining. Burial followed in the Dominican Sisters’ Cemetery, also in Ossining.
