Sister Ann O’Halloran, R.S.H.M., who taught at St. Anthony’s School in Manhattan for 10 years, died Nov. 7 at Marymount Convent in Tarrytown. She was 80.
Sister Ann was at St. Anthony’s School, 1974-1984. She taught at St. Thomas Aquinas School, the Bronx, 1970-1974, and Marymount School, Manhattan, 1963-1964. She also taught anthropology classes at Marymount Manhattan College.
She also served in Brooklyn, and in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Colombia.
Born in County Cork, Ireland, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in Tarrytown in 1959 and professed final vows in 1966.
She received a bachelor’s degree in history from Marymount College, Tarrytown, and a master’s in anthropology from the New School for Social Research, Manhattan.
Her sisters, Mary and Rosemary, and her brothers, John and Michael, survive her.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 13 in Marymount Convent. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
