Sister Ann Tumulty, O.P., who served as a nurse, died Feb. 19 in Linden, N.J. She was 75.

She did nursing with the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor in New York, 1950-1953 and 1972-1984. She served in the Bronx at Misericordia Hospital, 1953-1958, and Calvary Hospital, 1967-1972 and 1984-1985, and in Sleepy Hollow at Phelps Memorial Hospital, 1985-1987.

She also did nursing in Ohio, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., she entered the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor in 1950 and professed final vows in 1958. The Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor were one of three orders that merged in 1995 to form the Dominican Sisters of Hope.

She received her R.N. from Misericordia School of Nursing, and had a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pace University and a master’s in theological studies from Maryknoll School of Theology.

A Funeral Mass was offered Feb. 22 at St. Elizabeth’s in Linden, with burial in the Dominican Sisters of Hope Cemetery in Ossining.
