Sister Anne O’Connell, S.C., who served as school utilization coordinator for Instructional Television (ITV) in Dunwoodie for 17 years, died Feb. 13 at New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital in Manhattan. She was 85.

Sister Anne was at ITV, 1994-2011. She volunteered at St. Peter’s parish, Yonkers, 2012-2016.

She taught in the archdiocese at St. Joseph, Florida, 1981-1994; Nativity of Our Blessed Lady School, the Bronx, 1971-1981; Cardinal Spellman High School, the Bronx, 1968-1971; Academy of Mount St. Vincent, Tuxedo Park, 1966-1968; Academy of Resurrection, Rye, 1963-1966; Elizabeth Seton Academy, the Bronx, 1958-1963; and St. Joseph Academy, Manhattan, 1957-1958.

Born in the Bronx, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1954 and professed final vows in 1962.

A graduate of St. Walburga Academy in Manhattan, she received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx, and a master’s as a teacher of biology and general science from the College of St. Rose, Albany.

Her sister, Sister Ellen Rose O’Connell, S.C.; and her brother, John Forster O’Connell, survive her.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 17 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, the Bronx. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
