Sister Catherine McCabe, S.C., who was a teacher in the archdiocese, died March 25 at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Edison, N.J. She was 80. Sister Catherine taught in the Bronx at St. Margaret Cortona, 1971-1977; Visitation, 1969-1971; and St. Raymond's, 1948-1954. She taught in Yonkers at St. Peter's, 1965-1969; in Manhattan at Incarnation, 1960-1963, and St. Patrick's, 1947-1948; and on Staten Island at Blessed Sacrament, 1954-1956. She also taught on Long Island. She was born in Manhattan and entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1946. She professed final vows in 1950. She held a bachelor's degree from the College of Mount St. Vincent and a master's from Manhattan College, both in the Bronx. A Funeral Mass was offered March 30 at Mount St. Vincent Convent in the Bronx, with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Queens.
