Sister Christine Webber, R.S.C.J., a counselor at Covenant House in Manhattan for nearly 20 years, died July 1 at Teresian House in Albany. She was 94. She joined the staff of Covenant House in 1977 after several years of service as business manager and bookkeeper at convents and schools of her congregation, including Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in East Harlem and Manhattanville College in Purchase. She continued ministry at Covenant House until 1995, with responsibilities for assessment and referral of teenage residents, primarily girls. A native of Brooklyn, she entered the Society of the Sacred Heart in 1949 and professed final vows in 1956. She is survived by two sisters, her twin, Charlotte Harold, and Mary Brent Bockkino. A Memorial Mass was offered in the Kenwood Convent Chapel in Albany July 13, with interment in the convent cemetery.
